why i`m in japan:

LOL, okay I guess I`m done sounding like a "Japanophile" now. :P I just find Japanese culture fasinating. From the architecture to the people to the language it`s all interesting. It`s pretty interesting to see a woman in a traditional kimono or yukata while she`s stepping off a train talking on her advanced cell phone and carrying a Luis Vuitton Bag. LOL talk about a is of traditional and modern lifestyle. Of course Japan isn`t all pretty kimono and cool cell phones. Like any country, Japan has it`s problems and I recognize that. In general I don`t think Japan is no better or no worse than America, but it`s refreshing to get out of America for a while to experience culture somewhere else.

why the site name and the girl`s outfit:
I named this website ("Sunrise") after a popular song that was released in 2004 by hip-hop/R&B group BENNIE K. I really liked the song, so I decided to use the name for my site. As for the girl, yeah, I know she`s NOT wearing a traditional kimono. But I`ve been on a fashion design kick lately so I design to make my own version of a kimono. Plus it was hard for me to find good kimono pics to work from.
